Challenge our working conditions, not the existence of our work.

One objection against keeping strip clubs (AKA SEVs. Sexual Entertainment Venues) open is the exploitative nature of some club systems and working conditions that dancers must abide by. This makes it difficult for dancers to speak freely and honestly about our experiences, as we are afraid of this being used against us and as ammunition to take our work places away from us altogether.

We don't want our work spaces taken away from us, but many of us do want better and fairer working conditions. It is so logical what will happen if our legal working spaces are taken from us:
- It won't stop the work happening, it will just be happening illegally or in more dangerous conditions. The work will continue, just underground.
- The element of choice for workers is removed entirely. Some workers (especially those with dependents and disabilities) will be at high risk in all areas of life, especially financially.
- Some workers will have no choice but to turn to higher contact forms of sex work in less regulated conditions. This would remove autonomy for some workers and is also a safety issue.
- The stigma is reinforced in society. Sex workers are still at risk of being discriminated against, hurt and even killed.

Wanting to close SEVs is to directly wish harm upon sex workers. If women's rights are the main concern of these 'radical feminists', why aren't they including sex workers in this rhetoric? We need protection. We need to be advocated for. We need to be supported by allies.

Imagine. Instead of SWERFs (SW Exclusionary Rad Fems) trying to remove our choice and force us into further danger, what if they listened to us? Openly listened to our struggles in the industry and what we need. What if they put their energy into helping us improve our working conditions?

I cannot stress enough: we want rights, not rescue! Challenge our working conditions, not the existence of our work.
