Cosmopolitan Feature
I was interviewed for this article in Cosmopolitan UK ! You can read the more expanded online article at: 'The Holbeck experiment: the city that tried to make sex work safer'.
Really great to see contributions from @sexquisite.events @hah_campaign @ecp_org & @nationaluglymugs
Some points feel incredibly nuanced, others feel a little glazed over. I understand why it's largely a journalist's standard practise to show both sides, but it's never easy seeing those who are anti-sex work given a platform. I don't agree with everything in here, but I appreciate more air time being given to those currently in the industry and fighting for decriminalisation. The interview I had was long and I know they can't say everything, but I would've liked to have seen a mention of our Union with how we are trying to combat exploitative working conditions- although I do understand the article was more focussed on full service than a club context (our Union is for all sex workers, but I talked about them in a club context).
The conclusion is ultimately fair and I largely agree with the summary. Although when it comes to OUR work, OUR bodies and OUR lives, I believe it is US who should be considered the most.
